In May and June 2023, the King’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence is holding Bringing the Human to the Artificial, an 8-week exhibition in the Bush House Arcade at the King’s Strand Campus in collaboration with King’s Culture. In addition to the Festival, King's College London is embarking on a year of programming exploring AI at King’s. The King's Institute for Artificial Intelligence is dedicated to connecting researchers, educators, students, policymakers, and the wider public to foster collaboration, advance research, and develop the understanding and application of AI in society. The festival events are all free and open to all. There will be opportunities to participate in King’s AI research through a series of demonstrations and, on Saturday 27 May, there will be a series of family-friendly events suitable for younger festival-goers. The festival programme covers a broad range of topics, including the digital future of surgery, human-AI relationships, art and AI, and the impact of AI on video games and music. Media fascination with the challenges and opportunities arising from these technologies has never been more intense, and conversations about the implications of AI are fast becoming standard features of our professional and social discourse. The use of AI has the potential to deliver major social and economic benefits, with profound impacts, many of which are yet to be understood. Artists and performers will join AI experts from King’s and the wider academic community in an exciting programme of talks, demos, workshops, screenings and live exhibits. Running from Wednesday 24 May to Sunday 28 May at King’s College London’s Strand Campus, the King's Festival of Artificial Intelligence is a five-day series of events dedicated to exploring the latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI) and their societal impact.
